How we are funded
This page exists from day one, even though there is nothing to declare yet. We would rather say “we make nothing” than leave the question hanging.
Today: zero revenue
DominicanRepublic.is has no advertising, no affiliate links, no sponsored content, no subscriptions. Nobody has paid to appear, to appear first, or to appear favourably. The project is funded by its editorial lead.
If you ever see a commercial link in a piece, it will be marked as such and explained before you click it.
What we will do once there is an audience
In this order, and with no exceptions to the rule below:
- Disclosed affiliate links for accommodation and activities. If you book through a link of ours we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The link will be marked and the piece will say so.
- Flat-fee agreements with local businesses: they pay for space, never for position or for a rating.
- Work for companies in tourism, property or resident services, always labelled and published outside the editorial flow.
What we will not do
- Display advertising. Never. No banners, no interstitials, no third-party “recommended content”.
- Paid rankings. No payment changes the order of a list.
- Undisclosed affiliate links. Not one.
The rule that overrides everything
No commercial relationship changes what we recommend or in what order. A business paying for space does not become recommendable; if it stops paying, it does not disappear from a guide where it belongs.
